Custom Orders

Do You wish to design your own figurine?
Please read through this page to know how to start and what to expect.

What can and cannot become custom made?

Custom made figurine is a figurine made to order, following the descriptions or suggestions of a customer. By ordering a custom made Calico Griffin's figurine you are getting a figurine made in my style. I assume you have already browsed through my works, before coming here, but if not, I highly encourare you to do so.

Custom made figurine cannot be a recreation of other artist's works. Custom made figurine can be inspired by anything regarding pose or coloring, but it is not possible to wish for a copy of anyone's works - that includes copyrighted characters from movies.

The style

Because you wish to own a custom made Calico Griffin's figurine, I assume you like my style. Calico Griffin is not a huge company, with tons of people who work and produce the figurines. This is a one person, small business. Every figurine is made from scratch by me and only by me. Every crafter has their own style, so by paying for a custom made figurine you just straight agree to get it done in that style you see anywhere in my recent social media posts or my shop's sold section. The style evolves on it's own, as you can see if you go back in time to my early works :)

Even if you include a drawing of your own character, please remember it will be made in Calico Griffin's style, as I am not a 3D printer or scanner of any sort :)

Desing reference

A design reference is an visualisation of your idea. It can be a drawing or a description. Do you need to design from scratch? Of course not! A design can include my past creation, with changed coloring, pose or details... Or just ask if a past creation is possible to recreate again! Note that, even if it is possible to recreate the older design, none of two figurines will ever be the exact same copy of each other.

What do I need to start?

  1. Figurines kind - griffin, dragon, fox, rooster? Any other creature on your mind?
  2. Pose - standing, laying down, sitting? Browse through my makes to get the ideas.
  3. Coloring
  4. Details - a bowtie or a flower? Painted details? A griffin with dragon's wings?
We will work through these together. Some room for improvisation is always nice, since most of the best creations comes spontaneusly.

Time

I always treat the paid custom order as a priority. Usually the waiting time is around 3 weeks (sometimes 1 week, but that depends where in my currect schedule I am at the given moment) till it's ready to ship. I will tell you the exact date. Please note that, I am starting to work on a figurine after the order is paid via my Etsy shop.

Payment

After we talk about all the details I will send you a custom listing of your own, that will include your name, initial or nickname in the title.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY the Custom Listing that is up in my shop the entire time! It is there, just to let the customers know that the Custom Orders are open in general. That listing on Etsy also says "READ ME FIRST" on the label.

If you simply grab the custom listing off Etsy and then throw me the details about the orders, You will get a refund right away. Please wait for a custom listing setup for You, that includes Your name on it.

Important: I collect payments via my Etsy shop www.calicogriffin.etsy.com and ONLY by this way. If anyone contacts you on any social media, telling that your Calico Griffin's order is waiting for payment and demands a transfer - do not do it!

I will never reach out to any of you on my own. I will only discuss the Custom Order's details with you, after you contact me - via Etsy, facebook or email. Remember to always stay safe when You are browsing the internet.

Refunds or changes in the design.

No refunds are possible for an already started or finished figurine. When I start working on it, I will send you a work in progress shot of it.

In general no changes in the design are possible after the payment it done. For you it might be just "this one spike on the head, made in different color" for me it is like "taking of all of the spikes off the figurine and starting over". Sometimes you could have forget about mentioning something, so if You let me know as soon as possible, I can include it, if the current work in progress still let me do it without starting all the figurine over again.

Think through the design beforehand, that's all :)
